Sweater Weather - An Interview!

Cynthia, Rossmore Office Manager: Suzy, I’ve heard you’ve always had a thing for sweaters. Where did that start?
Suzy Le Q: Ever since high school, I’ve had a soft spot for a great sweater. Back then, my closet leaned heavily into the Americana classics, think Polo Sport, L.L. Bean, and that nostalgic mix of preppy and practical. There was just something about the textures, the colors, and those timeless silhouettes that made me feel both cozy and put together.
Cynthia, Rossmore Office Manager: And it sounds like that love never went away?
Suzy: Not at all. If anything, it evolved. Now we’re channeling that same energy into our very first collection of sweaters. We’re drawing from the iconic mood of Polo Ralph Lauren bear jumpers, Shrimps' playful graphics, and a touch of modern Acne Studios Alpine chic. Each design nods to heritage style but feels fresh for today.
Cynthia, Rossmore Office Manager: You’ve mentioned jacquard knits before. Why are they special to you?
Suzy: They’re not just beautiful, they’re part of history. The first “computers” were actually French Jacquard knitting machines, using punch cards to control intricate woven patterns. That same principle gives our sweaters their depth, detail, and personality today. Technology has always been woven into the fabric of fashion, and it’s personal to me: my dad, a lifelong tech enthusiast, introduced me to computers at a young age. Because of him, I taught myself coding and learned to harness tech in a truly unique way, which is how I launched a business so early. Now, we’re taking it even further: we’re among the first brands to merge AI-generated design with handcrafted knitwear, creating pieces that are literally impossible anywhere else. It’s a full-circle moment, the feminine, the artisanal, and the futuristic converging in every stitch. I couldn’t be more thrilled.
Cynthia, Rossmore Office Manager: So what’s next?
Suzy: Sweaters, for me, are tactile storytelling. Each stitch carries warmth, craft, and character. We’ve poured that philosophy into this upcoming drop. Stay tuned, it’s going to be worth the wait.
